Coastal Hedgenettle

Coastal Hedgenettle is a showy herbaceous perennial native ranging from the coast of California as far north as Alaska. Coastal Hedgenettle grows between 3-8 feet tall, and spreading via suckers. Its deep fuchsia to pink blooms are visited heavily by hummingbirds, bees, and seeds are favored by birds.

In the garden, this is a wonderfully aromatic, non-stinging hedgenettle perfect for a shady spot that needs filled in. Coastal Hedgenettle enjoys rich soils, and will spread quickly where there is moisture. Plant by a bird bath, drainage ditch, or seasonal creek, and pair with Yarrow, Seep Monkeyflower, native rushes & sedges.
