Beaked Penstemon
Beaked Penstemon is a perennial herb that grows in clumps of many erect stems from a woody base, reaching 1 – 3.3 ft. tall
Its red to orange-red tubular flowers bloom throughout the summer and have a notable hooded upper lip and a three-lobed lower lip on the mouth of the flowers.
Beaked Penstemon is a favorite among hummingbirds and a likely host for the larvae of the Common Buckeye butterfly, various species of Checkerspot butterflies, and at least a few moth species.
The perfect addition to bird gardens, hummingbird gardens, butterfly gardens, and bee gardens!
