Rice Cutgrass

Rice cut grass, a quick growing rhizomatous perennial grass grows from 2-4′ tall.

The leaves of Rice cut grass form a very rough minutely toothed edge that makes it unpalatable to many herbivore mammals.

Its a great grass to add to bioswales where there is a need to fill in. The seeds provide excellent food source for waterfowl and song birds.

It naturally occurs in wet places and is sometimes used for erosion control and restoring wetlands.
