Featherweed

Featherweed, also known as Pacific cudweed, is a perennial herb in the sunflower family. It forms a low-growing mass of soft, curly, slightly hairy, silvery white leaves. In the spring, it sends up flower stalks that reach about 1.5 ft. tall. Its tiny, nondescript, pale yellow to white to purple disc flowers bloom from spring through the end of summer.

This species is ideal for coastal and well-draining environments in full sun. Like other cudweed species, Featherweed is a likely larval host plant of the American lady butterfly.
