Flannelbush

These Fremontia were grown from seeds collected from a selection of Fremontia reaching ~4 ft in height, with a low, mounding growth form. The parent is an evergreen shrub with small apricot orange to yellow flowers that bloom from April to July. As we grow from seed, variation is to be expected in size & form.

Flannelbush are extremely drought tolerant, (often growing in dry, sandy washes in Central California) which lends well to the California native garden. It’s attractive flowers are a favorite among bees.
