Shy Monkeyflower
Shy monkeyflower is an adorable annual herbaceous plant, reaching less than a foot tall and wide. Its fringed bright green leaves and butter yellow blooms often have spots of deep red to purple. Quite showy blooms for such a petite plant!
Native to seeps in rock outcrops, streams, and creeks of CA and western North America, Shy monkeyflower prefers a slightly drier habitat to its relative, Seep Monkeyflower. Use as a pop of spring color in a hummingbird garden, butterfly garden, or bee garden. Great for a container plant, just mix in a perennial accompaniment for year-round color.
