Woollyleaf Ceanothus

Woollyleaf Ceanothus is a fast growing evergreen shrub up to 6-13 ft. tall x 6-20 ft. wide. It puts on spectacular floral displays of deep blue, lavender, or white flowers for 1-2 months in winter-early spring with particularly abundant flowers in wetter years.

Its rounded, upright columnar form makes Woollyleaf Ceanothus useful for hedges and bank stabilization. It pairs very nicely with Hoaryleaf Ceanothus, Spiny Redberry, Black Sage, White Sage, and Toyon in the garden. This species is not tolerant of summer water once established, so any supplemental water after the first year should be light and indirect.
