Sierra Snapdragon
The Sierra Snapdragon is a perennial herbaceous plant that is endemic to California, where it is known to pop up in recently disturbed/burned areas among lower-elevation slopes. It is fast growing, rounded and bushy with long erect stems reaching 1-2 ft. tall and racemes of showy purple-pink to red flowers at the top from mid-spring to late summer.
Sierra Snapdragon is a lovely addition to pollinator gardens and sunny cottage gardens as an accent plant. It is especially attractive to hummingbirds and supports a variety of butterflies such as the Common Buckeye and American Lady.
