Bugloss-flowered fiddleneck

Bugloss-flowered fiddleneck, or Tarweed Fiddleneck, is an 0.5-3 foot tall, upright, spring flowering annual wildflower. Native across the western US, in CA, Bugloss flowered fiddleneck is found across the western half of the state, often in foothill woodland and sagebrush scrub habitats.

Bristly foliage gives way to cheery marigold-yellow curling flowerheads in spring. One of the more common fiddlenecks, Bugloss-flowered fiddleneck should reseed well. In the garden, best grown with other annual wildflowers such as Clarkia, Madia, or other Tarweeds.
