Davis Showy Milkweed (seed)
Showy Milkweed is a perennial, with 3 foot tall stems and large gray 5 inch leaves. Space 2 to 3 feet apart. Plant in mixed borders, grassland gardens, or habitat gardens to attract Monarch butterflies, birds, and insects.
Spreads easily by underground stems. Use with large grasses such as wild rye, deer grass, and needlegrasses.
This distinctive ‘Davis’ variety is easier and more vigorous than the straight species. We grow ours from seed collected off of this cultivar, so ours is not the true cultivar and is subject to genetic and aesthetic variation!
