Red Bush Monkeyflower

Red Monkeyflower is a small, fast-growing shrub that reaches about 2′ tall.

This southern cousin differs from our local orange flowered monkeyflower by producing bright red flowers. This glorious trumpet shaped flowers can last for most of the year (depending on rainfall pattern). This is great news for the humming birds that drink the nectar.

Avoid direct watering in late summer or early fall as it may kill this plant. Best to let it go dormant for the hottest months of the year, and then watch it come back with the fall-winter rains.
