Creeping barberry

Creeping barberry is a low growing evergreen sub-shrub that creates a stiff, spreading ground-cover growing 1′ tall to 4-5.’ wide.

An excellent ground cover or foundation plant that will do well in shady garden.

Creeping barberry will tolerate clay soils but does best with moist, loamy soil.

Adds color to the garden throughout the seasons. It has yellow flowers in the middle of spring and conspicuous blue berries (birds like) in the early summer and although it is evergreen, in fall the leaves turn bronze.
