Summer lupine

This spreading perennial herb grows to about 1′ tall and 1′ wide.

Summer lupine is host of the endangered Mission blue butterfly, this is a great habitat plant to plant in the garden!

A beautiful perennial for dry sunny spots, the silvery grey leaves stand out against darker greens of Ceanothus and Coffeeberry. You won’t be disappointed with the fragrant blue flowers from April to August.

This lupine tolerates heavier soils as long as water is kept to a minimum.
