Golden yarrow

Golden yarrow is a 1 – 2′ tall shrub with bright yellow flowers in early summer. Space plants 1-2 ft apart.

Lovely foliage and bold flowers for dry well-drained spot.
It does best with full sun, a little summer water, and good drainage.

Companion plants include Salvias, Sticky monkeyflower, and California sagebrush.

Makes a good wildlife plant.

Ecological Value

Historical Uses

It is reported that Southern California tribes used the white wooly hairs as a remedy for rheumatism by rolling the hairs into a ball, placing it on the affected part, and lighting it on fire.
