Bush anemone

This evergreen shrub is one of the showiest native species, producing tons of fragrant blooms from April to July. It is adaptable to a variety of soils including clay and loam but does best with well drained soil. It is really easy to care for and will grow in both sun and shade. Once established, water needs are minimal. In the garden usually reaches 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide, and it is fairly easy to shape. The large camellia-like white flowers have a lovely scent. Great with coffeeberry, spicebush, and oaks. This species does not like to be babied, but cutting back periodically cutting back periodically will help it stay fresh.
